WILLIAMSPORT 15, HAZLETON AREA 6

Jamel Bailey ran for two touchdowns Friday night as host Williamsport defeated Hazleton Area 15-6 in the District 2-4 Class 6A Subregional semifinals.

All four teams in the bracket came into the playoffs with 5-5 records. After completing a season sweep of Hazleton Area, the Millionaires will be at Wilkes-Barre Area Friday night, looking to sweep another Wyoming Valley Conference opponent with a title and state tournament berth on the line.

Hazleton Area led 6-0 after one quarter.

Bailey ran 32 yards for a second-quarter touchdown, then added a 41-yarder with less than a minute remaining in the game. After running for the tying touchdown, he put Williamsport in front by catching a two-point pass from kicker Parker Johnson after the extra-point kick snap was mishandled.

Ashton Karlick scored the Hazleton Area touchdown on a 1-yard run.

Bailey finished with 164 yards on 14 carries.
