East Stroudsburg North at Honesdale

HONESDALE 33, ES NORTH 16

With an experienced offense returning from last season, Honesdale was in control from the beginning and defeated East Stroudsburg North 33-16.

The Hornets ran behind a strong offensive line and scored on all five possessions with their starters in the game. They had five rushing touchdowns on the evening  and only threw the ball four times.

The Hornets got on the board on a Bradley Bibalo 5-yard rushing touchdown to take a 7-0 lead. Aiden Collins scored on the next Hornets drive and Mason Avery ran for the next touchdown to end the scoring for the half.

Meanwhile, Honesdale’s defense held the Timberwolves to only one score in first half to make it a 20-8 halftime score.

Avery would add his second rushing touchdown on the first drive of the second half and would finish with 128 rushing yards for the evening.  Gabe Duda would score the Hornets last touchdown for the night.

The Hornets start the season off 1-0 and will play Pocono Mountain East next Friday.
