DUNMORE 21, WEST SCRANTON 7

In the renewal of a long-time Big 11 rivalry at Scranton Memorial Stadium, Dunmore won their fourth consecutive game by the score of 21-7 over winless West Scranton.

The Bucks displayed a solid passing game all night long, featuring the arm of quarterback Jack McNeff. The senior signal caller tossed two touchdown passes both to sophomore Jacob Costanzo.

Costanzo was on the receiving end of a McNeff aerial from 9 yards out with 3:12 remaining in the opening period. Eric Reesey’s point after made it 7-0, and the Bucks would never look back.

After a seesaw second quarter which saw both teams have some success moving the ball, the Bucks finally hit paydirt when McNeff hooked up with Costanzo for the second time, this one for 34 yards. Reesey’s try was successful and the Bucks led 14-0 with 1:30 remaining in the first half.

The third quarter saw West Scranton repeatedly try to establish a passing attack as they had little success running the ball in the opening half.  Senior quarterback Caiden Berardi lobbed a pass to Cayden Farr that the Invader wideout was able to handle, resulting in a 39-yard touchdown, cutting the Dunmore lead in half at 14-7 as the third period clock expired.

Dunmore was able to sustain a march to open the fourth quarter and put the game out of reach. Gabe Franek dove over the goal line from 2 yards away. Reesey’s extra point made it 21-7 with 9:10 left in the contest.

Dunmore (4-4 overall, 3-0) will finally return home after three consecutive road games when they host Honesdale on Friday night. West Scranton(0-8, 0-3) will travel to divisional foe Lakeland.
