JERSEY SHORE 14, DELAWARE VALLEY 10
It was another tough early season opponent for Delaware Valley, going on the road to face District 4 power Jersey Shore and the Bulldogs came out away with a hard-fought 14-10 win .

The Bulldogs came out running, scoring on their opening possession on a 40-yard touchdown run. Delaware Valley struggled offensively at points early.  Logan Olsommer finally connected with Trey Newton, the freshman receiver who had a standout game, for  a 55-yard gain that led to the first Warriors touchdown.

However, Jersey Shore answered shortly thereafter, with yet another long touchdown that was really the story of the first half – DV giving up big plays and also some problematic tackling.

The Warriors defense held strong and kept the team in the game with two clutch 4th down stops before half.  A field goal from new kicker Reagan Decker made a field goal before halftime  and Delaware Valley was only down by 4 going into the second-half.

After that it was just a slugfest, both defenses going at it. Joey Kessler had 3 sacks on the night for the Warriors and DV had their chances to take the lead with a nice possession going late in the 4th, but a fumble cost them and there were more mental mistakes after that.

The Warriors ended up scoreless in the second-half with the Warriors driving inside the 20 of Jersey Shore at one point, but could not get it into the end zone.

Delaware Valley will have their home opener next Friday night against Central York.
