Every week, we will highlight some of the best special teams performances from the WVC and LFC presented by Northeast Industries. Here is Week 3:
BRADEN LOFF, Valley View
The Cougars definitely have weapon on special teams. Braden Loff has shown a strong leg and accuracy in his kicking abilities. He has already made two 45+ field goals this season including a 46-yarder in the win over Wilkes-Barre. All four of his kickoffs were touchbacks. He is also a perfect 6 for 6 in extra points on the season.
CHAYSE ROCHE, Carbondale
The Chargers have a strength in the trenches and Chayse Roche has been dominant through the first three games on both sides of the ball. But it was special teams that he made the biggest mark in the win over Crestwood this past Friday. Roche blocked a punt and scooped it up. He ran into the end zone for a touchdown. The Chargers margin of victory was six points so this was a crucial play to get the win.
JOSEF WOLFF, Dunmore
The Bucks have many weapons so Josef Wolff might get lost in the shuffle. This past week, he had a rushing touchdown, but then to start the second half, he return the kickoff for a 69-yard touchdown. Dunmore’s special teams have a been a big part of their dominant start to the season.
Honorable Mention: Colby Bonagura, Wallenpaupack – 39-yd field goal, 6 for 6 XP; Jack Hartshorn, Abington Heights – 32-yd field goal; Colby Bonagura, Wallenpaupack – 5 for 5 XP
