2026 PREVIEW
After their streak of district championships ended in 2024, the Warriors were determined to get back on top. They did just that by winning the Class 5A championship last season. It wasn’t exactly the type of season Delaware Valley has become accustomed to, with only seven wins, but the schedule was difficult early and the Warriors were playing their best football at the end of the season. The 2026 season could follow a similar path as DV will have to replace a significant amount of offensive production.
Quarterback will be the first order of business, with Luke Petersheim taking over the offense. Devin Estevez rushed for more than 500 yards as the backup last season and steps into the full-time running back role. Dylan Bannon and Cole Belcher will see time at fullback.
Jacob Wolack returns at wide receiver and will be joined by Nick Vilord. All-Star tight end James Dabney should be one of the team’s primary targets in the passing game, with Sam Wood also expected to see time at the position.
The offensive line has some experience but will have to replace one starter and develop depth. Philip Leslie, Michael Seltzer, Thomas Zaucha, and Caleb Hogan are penciled in as starters, with the final position still to be determined.
Estevez and Mason Stewart will serve as the edge rushers, while Seltzer, Jace Stahli, and Mark Reinhardt anchor the defensive interior. Bannon returns at inside linebacker and will be joined by Belcher.
The secondary will be young and inexperienced, with Lucas Purdon and Jason Westeridge expected to start at cornerback. Vilord, Alex Calvario, Joe Barone, and Angelo Cosentino will compete for the safety positions.
Landon Decker takes over as the kicker, while Dabney will handle the punting duties. Will Mackenzie returns as the long snapper.
QUOTE FROM COACH OLSOMMER: Need to replace a lot of production for previous teams. Going to be very green in areas, team needs to mature fast!
