WEEK 6

Lakeland Chiefs (5-0) at Riverside Vikings (5-0)
Riverside Veterans Memorial Stadium (Grass), Friday 7pm – Media: FUZZ
LFC Division 2 Game
Series: Lakeland 32-18-1
Last Meeting: 2025 – Lakeland 33-23
Last Week: Lakeland 40, Carbondale 6; Riverside 35, Old Forge 28
Players To Watch
Lakeland: WR Luke McFarland; Riverside: OL Exavier Pelton
The Skinny: There will be a three-way battle in LFC Division 2 and for that matter, Class 2A. This is Part 1. Both teams are unbeaten. Both teams have been untested for the most part. The importance of this game for seeding and a possible championship makes it the best game of the week. Both quarterbacks should be front and center for this one – Brayden Rose for the Vikings and Jackson Pochas for the Chiefs.
Key Matchups: Lakeland wide receivers vs. Riverside secondary
Favorite: Lakeland by 7
Abington Heights Comets (2-3) at Scranton Prep Cavaliers (4-1)
Dunmore Veterans Memorial Stadium (Turf), Friday 7pm – Media: WEJL
LFC Division 1 Game
Series: Abington Heights 23-20
Last Meeting: 2025 – Abington Heights 17-15
Last Week: North Pocono 21, Abington Heights 0; Scranton Prep 57, West Scranton 7
Players To Watch
Abington Heights: OL Thomas Reese; Scranton Prep: WR Noah Krzywiec
The Skinny: Abington Heights is struggling on offense and badly needs a win. Scranton Prep is 2-0 in the division, on a four-game winning streak and has shown to be very good on both sides of the ball. The Comets will want to shorten this game with their running game and Jayden Anglin. Expect him have at least 25 carries. On the Cavaliers side, the one-two punch of Braedon McPartland and Noah Krzywiec will be key for Prep.
Key Matchups: Abington Heights defensive line vs. Scranton Prep run game
Favorite: Scranton Prep by 12
Western Wayne Wildcats (3-2) at Honesdale Hornets (4-1)
Hornet Stadium (Turf), Friday 7pm
LFC Division 2 Game
Series: Honesdale 32-19
Last Meeting: 2025 – Honesdale 36-0
Last Week: Wyoming Area 35, Western Wayne 13; Honesdale 36, Crestwood 7
Players To Watch
Western Wayne: LB Griffin Cello; Honesdale: RB Dontae Joseph
The Skinny: Except for one game, nobody has stopped Honesdale’s offense. Western Wayne will need a stellar defensive effort to keep them in the game. On offense, the Wildcats could be without RB Quinn Swartz which would limit their productivity. Both these teams were a surprise on the first half of the season and one will continue to roll.
Key Matchup: Western Wayne defensive line vs. Honesdale offensive line
Favorite: Honesdale by 13
Holy Cross Crusaders (2-3) at Holy Redeemer Royals (1-4)
McCarthy Stadium (Turf), Saturday 7pm
Independent Game
Series: Holy Redeemer 11-7
Last Meeting: 2025 – Holy Cross 44-38
Last Week: Holy Cross 41, Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech 16; Pine Grove 29, Holy Redeemer 14
Players To Watch
Holy Cross: RB Naim Ortiz; Holy Redeemer: RB Lucas Shrader
The Skinny: Holy Cross has a two-game winning streak after a tough schedule to start the season. Holy Redeemer has only one win, but their offense can keep it in games. The Royals need to finish drives more, but they can match anyone with their offense. The Crusaders will want to establish the run to keep the Royals offense off the field. The Holy Roller Bowl should be a good one.
Key Matchup: Holy Cross secondary vs. Holy Redeemer wide receivers
Favorite: Holy Redeemer by 2

Delaware Valley Warriors (1-4) at Valley View Cougars (3-2)
John Henzes Veterans Memorial Stadium (Turf), Friday 7pm – Media: NEPAFootball.com
LFC Division 1 Game
Series: Delaware Valley 13-8
Last Meeting: 2025 – Delaware Valley 41-0
Last Week: Wallenpaupack 31, Delaware Valley 8; Valley View 56, Scranton 22
Players To Watch2
Delaware Valley: QB Leif-Erik Orby; Valley View: QB Colin Dempsey
The Skinny: Both these teams have struggled on offense in the first half of the season. The opening day quarterbacks have changed so we will see which new signal caller can make a bigger difference. The defenses have held their own for the most part although the Warriors have had to deal with a ton of injuries.
Key Matchup: Delaware Valley defensive line vs. Valley View run game
Favorite: Valley View by 6
Old Forge Blue Devils (1-4) at Lackawanna Trail Lions (0-5)
Lion Pride Stadium (Grass), Friday 7pm – Media: NEPAFootball.com
LFC Division 3 Game
Series: Old Forge 27-25
Last Meeting: 2025 – Lackawanna Trail 38-20
Last Week: Riverside 35, Old Forge 28; Mid Valley 42, Lackawanna Trail 16
Players To Watch
Old Forge: LB Elio Castaldi; Lackawanna Trail: RB Ayden Fowler
The Skinny: This game usually has a ton on the line, but both teams are just looking for wins at this point. Class 1A is a subregional again and not a strong classification. So, whoever wins this game can get into the mix. The Blue Devils defense has been good for the most part. However, the Lions haven’t been able to get an offensive idenity and their defense has showed its inexperience.
Key Matchup: Old Forge offensive line vs. Lackawanna Trail linebackers
Favorite: Old Forge by 5
Crestwood Comets (1-4) at Wyoming Area Warriors (3-2)
Jake Sobeski Stadium (Grass), Friday 7pm – Media: NEPAFootball.com
WVC Crossover Game
Series: Wyoming Area 18-6
Last Meeting: 2025 – Wyoming Area 24-21
Last Week: Honesdale 36, Crestwood 7; Wyoming Area 35, Western Wayne 13
Players To Watch
Crestwood: DL Ryan Barna; Wyoming Area: RB Nicholas Kondrosky
The Skinny: Crestwood has a four-game losing streak while Wyoming Area has its first winning streak of the season. It’s desperation time for the Comets, who are in danger of not making a postseason, even though it is only midseason. The Warriors offense gets better each week and QB Luke Kopetchny is settling in. This game has been fun the last several seasons, so maybe we will get another one.
Key Matchup: Crestwood defensive line vs. Wyoming Area run game
Favorite: Wyoming Area by 10
Tunkhannock Tigers (0-5) at Montrose Meteors (4-1)
Bennett/Mullen Field (Grass), Friday 7pm
Conference Crossover Game
Series: Tunkhannock 12-6
Last Meeting: Tunkhannock 15-10
Last Week: Panther Valley 27, Tunkhannock 18; Montrose 21, Renaissance Academy 14
Players To Watch
Tunkhannock: RB Casen Petrak; Montrose: WR Weston Nabywaniec
The Skinny: Montrose has been one of the biggest surprises of the season and before the Meteors head back to division play, they have a chance to clinch a .500 regular season already. Tunkhannock has had some close calls in getting its first win, but has come up short. The Tigers will be hungry in the trip up Route 29 to Susquehanna County.
Key Matchup: Tunkhannock offensive line vs. Montrose defensive front
Favorite: Montrose by 8

Dunmore Bucks (5-0) at Mid Valley Spartans (3-2)
Spartans Stadium (Turf), Friday 7pm – Media: NEPAFootball.com
LFC Division 2 Game
Series: Dunmore 43-5
Last Meeting: 2025 – Dunmore 35-13
Last Week: Dunmore 56, Susquehanna 6; Mid Valley 42, Lackawanna Trail 16
Players To Watch
Dunmore: FB Colin Coulthard; Mid Valley: WR Aiden Willson
The Skinny: Mid Valley had an up and down first half of the season. The Spartans will have to right the ship quickly if they want to hang with Dunmore. The Bucks look unstoppable right now. The offense can score many different ways. The biggest problem for the Spartans is their strength is the run game and that’s the strength of the Dunmore defense. If Mid Valley can hold its own up front, the Spartans have a fighting chance. That’s easier said than done.
Key Matchup: Dunmore run game vs. Mid Valley defensive line
Favorite: Dunmore by 24
North Pocono Trojans (5-0) at Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack (1-4)
Wolfpack Stadium (Turf), Friday 7pm – Media: NEPAFootball.com
Conference Crossover Game
Series: First Meeting
Last Week: North Pocono 21, Abington Heights 0; Dallas 47, Wilkes-Barre 7
Players To Watch
North Pocono: WR Connor Ruddy; Wilkes-Barre : RB Noah Monsour
The Skinny: North Pocono leaves the LFC for a week and will try to keep its regular season winning streak going. They could be short-handed with some injuries, but have a ton of depth. Wilkes-Barre played a tough schedule to start the season and held its own until last week. Now, the Wolfpack has to pick up the pieces and find a way to hang with the best team in District 2. Not an easy take for Wilkes-Barre.
Key Matchups: North Pocono offensive line vs. Wilkes-Barre defensive line
Favorite: North Pocono by 14
Berwick Bulldogs (2-3) at Hanover Area Hawkeyes (0-5)
Hanover Memorial Stadium (Grass), Friday 7pm – Media: NEPAFootball.com
WVC Division 2 Game
Series: Berwick 6-5
Last Meeting: 2025 – Berwick 49-9
Last Week: Pottsville 39, Berwick 14; Lake-Lehman 35, Hanover Area 24
Players To Watch
Berwick: QB Shiloh Escobar; Hanover Area: RB Gregory McCoy
The Skinny: This can be called the M*A*S*H Bowl. Both teams quarterbacks had issues last week. Berwick’s Brady Cleaver is expected to miss his second straight game while Hanover Area’s Logan Richardson couldn’t finish last week’s game and his status is questionable for Friday. They aren’t the only ones. Basically, this will be a game of attrition, which is too bad because both teams have been fun to watch when they have been healthy.
Key Matchup: Berwick secondary vs. Hanover pass game
Favorite: Berwick by 6
Wallenpaupack Buckhorns (4-1) at West Scranton Invaders (2-3)
Scranton Memorial Stadium (Turf), Friday 7pm – Media: NEPAFootball.com
LFC Division 1 Game
Series: West Scranton 11-10
Last Meeting: 2021 – Wallenpaupack 49-0
Last Week: Wallenpaupack 31, Delaware Valley 8; Scranton Prep 57, West Scranton 7
Players To Watch
Wallenpaupack: WR Jevin Folk; West Scranton: WR Justyn Alvarez
The Skinny: West Scranton has lost three straight after the strong start that had the Invader Nation excited. Wallenpaupack is running all over everyone and is one of the biggest surprises of 2026. Buckhorns have won four straight and they haven’t been close. Wallenpaupack is 2-0 in the division and can move into a first-place tie with North Pocono, and possibly Scranton Prep, with a win. The Invaders will have to bring their A game to be competitive in this one.
Key Matchups: Wallenpaupack run game vs. West Scranton defensive line
Favorite: Wallenpaupack by 13
Scranton Knights (0-5) at Wyoming Valley West Spartans (3-2)
Spartan Stadium (Turf), Friday, 7pm
Confearence Crossover Game
Series:Wyoming Valley West 14-12
Last Meeting: 2025 – Scranton 45-7
Last Week: Valley View 56, Scranton 22; Wyoming Valley West 47, Nanticoke 7
Players to Watch
Scranton: WR Angelo Matlock; Valley West: RB Iszrel Davis
The Skinny: Wyoming Valley West is on a three-game winning streak for the first time since 2018. This isn’t an illusion. The Spartans have looked good. Scranton has been the opposite. The Knights have been mercy-ruled in four straight games and although they are young, we haven’t seen the improvement on the field for the Knights.
Key Matchup: Scranton linebackers vs. Valley West run game
Favorite: Wyoming Valley West by 18

Susquehanna Sabers (0-5) at Carbondale Area Chargers (2-3)
Cerra Sports Complex (Grass), Friday, 7pm
LFC Division 3 Game
Series: Carbondale 32-25-1
Last Meeting: 2025 – Carbondale 32-13
Last Week: Dunmore 56, Susquehanna 6; Lakeland 40, Carbondale 6
Players to Watch
Susquehanna: FB Joey Allen; Carbondale: LB Cole Balderas
The Skinny: Susquehanna is struggling and now injuries are piling up. Carbondale needs a win to get back on track and should use a strong running game to finish the Sabers quickly.
Key Matchup: Susquehanna defensive line vs. Carbondale offensive line
Favorite: Carbondale by 34
Hazleton Area Cougars (1-4) at Dallas Mountaineers (5-0)
Mountaineer Stadium (Turf), Friday 7pm
WVC Division Crossover Game
Series: Dallas 8-6
Last Meeting: 2025 – Dallas 37-7
Last Week: Pittston Area 46, Hazleton 7; Dallas 47, Wilkes-Barre 7
Players To Watch
Hazleton: LB Alex Fedorko; Dallas: WR Bobby Gallagher
The Skinny: Hazleton Area is another team that has been hit hard by injuries and even when the Cougars were healthy, they struggled. The Mountaineers have been a steamroller and we expect that to continue.
Key Matchup: Hazleton run game vs. Dallas defensive line
Favorite: Dallas by 31
Nanticoke Trojans (1-4) at Lake-Lehman Black Knights (2-3)
Eddie Edwards Stadium (Turf), Friday, 7pm
WVC Division 3 Game
Series: Lake-Lehman 28-26
Last Meeting: 2025 – Lake-Lehman 42-0
Last Week: Valley West 47, Nanticoke 7; Lake-Lehman 35, Hanover Area 24
Players to Watch
Nanticoke: RB David Jackson; Lake-Lehman: OL Zach Koval
The Skinny: Nanticoke wants to make a statement and prove it can stay with the teams in its division. In the only Division 3 game played to date, Nanticoke beat Tunkhannock. Lake-Lehman has momentum after a huge come-from-behind win last week. The Black Hole could be a nightmare for the Trojans if they don’t limit their mistakes.
Key Matchup: Nanticoke linebackers vs. Lake-Lehman offensive line
Favorite: Lake-Lehman by 28
Oxford Hornets (1-4) at Pittston Area Patriots (2-3)
Charlie Trippi Stadium (Grass), Friday 7pm
District Crossover Game
Series: First Meeting
Last Week: Downingtown East 49, Oxford 0; Pittston Area 46, Hazleton 7
Players To Watch
Oxford: WR Jake Patterson; Pittston Area: RB Jude Ferentino
The Skinny: Oxford is from District 1 so their competition has been tough. Pittston Area played its best game of the season on both sides of the ball and hopes to take care of business at ‘The Tripp”.
Key Matchup: Oxford passing game vs. Pittston Area secondary
Favorite: Pittston Area by 7
