2025 PREVIEW
Scranton started strong once again last season but struggled down the stretch, a trend the Knights are determined to reverse. With strong senior leadership, they hope to stay consistent and competitive in division play each week.
Quarterback Brody Coyle returns after playing nearly every game last season following an injury in 2023. Healthy and confident, he’ll lead the offense. Reece Whitman is back at tailback with Ismael Salazar expected to contribute as his backup. Versatile athlete Chris Delsantro will see time at fullback while also lining up at tight end and H-back. Brandon Dempsey, a returning starter, leads the receiving corps alongside Kamani Sterling, Ben Campbell, Tony Battaglia, and Michael McCann.
Up front, three starters return: left tackle Nick Brown, center Carter Tomcyzk, and right guard Orlando Moncada. The left guard spot will go to either Luke Warring or Keith Johnson, while Austin Gottstein and Daris McCollum will compete for the right tackle job. Jon Mrozik adds depth across the line.
Defensively, Brown anchors the line at defensive end with support from Matt Lake and McCollum. Johnson, Moncada, and Jalen Thomas will rotate at defensive tackle. At linebacker, Delsantro returns on the outside with Warring also in the mix. Mrozik is a returning starter inside, joined by Landon Morgan and Nate Duffy for depth. The secondary will see two new starting cornerbacks from a pool of Sterling, Battaglia, Giovanni Garcia, and Trevon Castellano. At safety, Whitman and Dempsey return as starters with McCann and Campbell backing them up.
On special teams, Merci Dieu steps in as the new placekicker. Campbell returns as the punter, while Dempsey continues to handle long-snapping duties.
