2025 PREVIEW
By Delaware Valley standards, 2024 was a down year. The Warriors missed out on a winning record for the first time in over a decade and saw their streak of eight straight district titles come to an end. But with plenty of returning talent on both sides of the ball, expectations are that DV will bounce back quickly. They should once again be in the mix for both division and district championships.
The biggest change comes at quarterback, where Colin McGarvey shifts over from wide receiver. He already has game experience and will be surrounded by weapons. Tailback Mike Iuzzolino, one of the top rushers in the district, returns for his senior season, while fullback Justin Estevez also brings back starting experience. Wideout Trey Newton had a breakout freshman year and teams up with Drew Dabney to form a dangerous receiving duo. At tight end, DV features one of the best tandems in the league with James Dabney and Teegan Handy.
As usual, the offensive line projects as a strength. Left tackle Josh Rhein and right tackle Chris Renna are returning starters, while Michael Seltzer — who stepped in during the playoffs — returns at right guard. Thomas Zucha is set to take over at center, while the left guard job will be decided in camp.
Defensively, Keith Doyle returns to lead the front, joined by Bannon, Delo, and Seltzer in the rotation. Linebacker is the strength of the unit with Estevez and Ayden Conklin back inside, while Bannon and Delo bring pressure off the edge. In the secondary, Shaun Cannalley is back at corner with Zion Colon expected to start opposite him. Iuzzolino and Chris Devaney are experienced safeties who round out a veteran group.
Special teams remain strong with Reagan Decker — one of the top kickers in the district — returning. Cannalley is back as the long snapper.
