2025 PREVIEW
Carbondale had their first winning season since 2017 and hope to carry that momentum into the 2025 season. The Chargers bring back an experienced group of skill players and key linemen that should help them compete in the division. The roster still remains young, but there are definitely some talented underclassmen.
The coaching staff rolled the dice going with a freshman quarterback in Cole Becchetti last season and it paid off. Not only did he play well, but got a year of experience under his belt. Nick Zaccone will be the backup. Caedon Voglino comes back at tailback after being injured for a majority of last season. His brother Mason will be the backup with Darion McKenzie and Frank Roman also seeing time at the position. Cole Balderas or Josh Kilhullen will be the new fullback. Roman, McKenzie, and Mason Voglino could also see time at the wide receiver position. Keagan Kuna returns at tight end while Jahquest Kirby will be the backup.
The offensive line returns three starters including Parker Mursh at left tackle, Mateo Spinelli at center, and Chayse Roche at right guard. Jaiden Keller is expected to take over at left guard and Mason Travis at right tackle. Aiden Sopko, Mitchell Masco, Keith Pish, Kayden Melko, Ronald Hazleton, and Colton Shaw will all provide depth.
Kirby is back at defensive end and will be joined on the other side by Kuna. Brenden Korty and Joey Wagner will also be in the rotation. Roche and Keller are back at defensive tackle and will be possibly joined by Travis, Sopko, Melko, Masco, and Owen Kovaleski. Steve Oakey and Baderas are back at linebacker with Kilhullen, Kayden Fritzgerald, Joel Martinez, Jerial Galarza, Ethan Lee, and Hadi Colvin providing depth. Roman is a returning starter at cornerback and Mason Voglino, McKenzie, and David Myers are possibilities on the other side. Caedon Voglino returns at safety with Fritzgerald another player at the position.
Levi Gabriel will handle the kicking and punting duties. Kuna will be the long snapper. Mason Voglino and McKenzie will be the returners.
