Every week, we will highlight some of the best linemen from the WVC and LFC presented by Honesdale National Bank. Here is Week 10:
JAKE BRYK, Dallas
The Dallas offense has had it’s ups and downs this season, but one of their most consistent players has been Bryk up front. He has been the leader on the offensive line and excels in both run blocking and pass protection. At the beginning of the season, he was awarded the coveted 76 jersey in memory of former Mountaineer Josh Balara and has shown why he earned that honor on and off the field.
MATT CURRY, Hanover Area
The offense for Hanover Area has been lights out this season and that doesn’t happen without the improvement in the offensive and defensive lines. Curry has been one of the Hawkeyes best blockers and also has contributed on the defensive side of the ball. This past weekend, the senior helped his team score 63 points and had two tackles-for-loss and five quarterback hurries while also recovering a fumble on defense.
LOGAN O’MALLEY, Wyoming Area
Wyoming Area won the physical battle up front in their rivalry game with Pittston Area. The Warriors rushed for 346 yards and five touchdowns. O’Malley was one of the cogs in the machine with the ability to drive block and clear holes for his running backs. The junior has been very consistent this season and one of the reasons the team has nine wins.
JOSH RHEIN, Delaware Valley
Every year the Warriors are very physical on the offensive line and Rhein might be one of the most physical lineman this year, not only on the team but in the division. He helped Delaware Valley gain 369 total yards in the win over Scranton, most of that in the first half where they scored all of their 49 points. The senior has been a leader for this unit all season long.
CHRISTOPHER SERRA, Susquehanna
It was a rough year for the Sabers, but they ended the season with a win and Serra was a big reason why. As the center, the senior was the lead blocker on a 5-yard touchdown run and a 6-yard audibled sneak to set up the winning score. He also had three tackles and two tackles-for-loss on defense .
