This is the 15th anniversary edition of our Five To Watch series presented by Realtor Judith Cipriani of ERA One Source Realty. There are 32 teams in the WVC and LFC plus Holy Redeemer and Montrose so it’s impossible to recognize every single player who might be deserving. The players we do list are some of the best at their position or have an interesting role coming up in 2025 for their team. Players will be recognized at only one position, even if they are capable two-way players. For players who don’t make the list, we hope you strive to make our lists at the end of the season because they are the ones that really count.
Here are the wide receivers (Listed alphabetically):
Logan Geskey, Sr. – Dallas
Height: 5-10 Weight 168
The Mountaineers were hit hard by graduation with Geskey the only returning starter on offense at a skill position. He will be tasked to become Dallas’ No. 1 playmaker and has shown he has the potential to do that and be one of the best receivers in the WVC. Last season, he caught 27 passes for 569 yards and five touchdowns. He also was used in the running game his sophomore season with 113 rushing yards and we expect the Mounts to use him in that capacity to take advantage of his speed and athleticism. Geskey was named a WVC Division 1 Honorable Mention wide receiver in 2024.

Luke Kopetchny, Jr. – Wyoming Area
Height: 6-2 Weight 170

Kopetchny had a breakout year his sophomore season leading District 2 in receiving yards with 864 and tied for the district lead in receiving touchdowns with 11. He should be able to build on those numbers this year although there will be some growing pains early with a new, unexperienced quarterback. Kopetchny has great size and athleticism and had some games where he couldn’t be contained. He also will be a key member in the Warriors secondary as he had two interceptions in 2024. Kopetchny was a WVC Division 2 First Team wide receiver and Honorable Mention defensive back last season.

Trey Newton, So. – Delaware Valley
Height: 5-11 Weight 150
The Warriors had some expectations with Newton entering the varsity level, but they didn’t expect him to be this good so soon. He caught 57 passes for 598 yards as a freshman. Newton possesses quickness off the line of scrimmage and was used in the short passing game to get him into open space. But he also could run by a defensive back when he needed to. He will also be playing with a new quarterback this season. Newton was an LFC Division I Second Team wide receiver in 2024.

Chris Rasmus, Sr. – Old Forge
Height: 6-0 Weight 195
Rasmus was a huge part of the Blue Devils offense last season with 52 receptions for 620 yards and five touchdowns. Old Forge will have to take advantage of his athleticism and football ability as they try to get back on top of the division.Rasmus could be used more in the running game which was the case his sophomore season. He was also a big part of the defense with 58 tackles and two sacks. Rasmus was an LFC Division III First Team wide receiver and Honorable Mention linebacker last season.

Cole West, Jr. – North Pocono
Height: 6-2 Weight 190

With great size and athleticism, West showed more effectiveness in the red zone this past season and stood out as one of the Trojans big-play weapons. He had 30 receptions for 375 yards and six touchdowns and will eclipse the 1,000 receiving yard mark for his career early during his junior season. He also was a key contributor in the secondary at defensive back. West was named an LFC Division I Second Team wide receiver.

SLEEPER
Quincy Mosley, Jr. – West Scranton
Height: 5-8 Weight 145
The Invaders struggled last season, but Mosley was a bright spot for the West offense. He led the team with 22 receptions for 462 yards. They will need him to step up even more this season. He has great speed and quickness and can be a difference maker for West Scranton as they keep rebuilding the program.
