This is the 15th anniversary edition of our Five To Watch series presented by Realtor Judith Cipriani of ERA One Source Realty. There are 32 teams in the WVC and LFC plus Holy Redeemer and Montrose so it’s impossible to recognize every single player who might be deserving. The players we do list are some of the best at their position or have an interesting role coming up in 2025 for their team. Players will be recognized at only one position, even if they are capable two-way players. For players who don’t make the list, we hope you strive to make our lists at the end of the season because they are the ones that really count.

Nick Bradley, Sr. – Abington Heights
Height: 6-1 Weight 195

No returning quarterback has been as good as Nick Bradley the past two seasons. He begins his senior season with a district title in pocket, and stats and accolades off the charts. Bradley is one of the best baseball prospects in the state, but he enjoys football even more and it shows on the field. He has now thrown for 4,458 yards for his career including over 2,000 yards in each of the last two seasons. Bradley also has thrown 50 touchdown passes in his career, 26 of those coming last season while throwing only 2 interceptions in 2024. He is a running threat when he needs to be and scored nine rushing touchdowns last year. Bradley was the LFC Division I Offense Player of the Year and a First Team quarterback in 2024. He is committed to play baseball at Auburn University.

Brody Coyle, Sr. – Scranton
Height: 6-0 Weight 180

Coyle has shown a very good skill set during his career and enters his senior season healthy which is the key to him being successful in 2025. When he is on the field, he is one of better two-way threats in the LFC and last year, he only missed one game after missing his entire sophomore season. Coyle threw for over 1,000 yards last season and accounted for 11 touchdowns. He will have to step up his game when facing better opponents, but a healthy offseason should help him get bigger and faster heading into his senior year.

Jake Howe, Sr. – Wilkes-Barre
Height: 6-3 Weight 195

A four-year starter, Howe has been on the radar in District 2 the past three seasons and put up the best numbers of his career in 2024. He also returns all of his offensive weapons which will make the Wolfpack offense very dangerous on Friday nights. Howe threw for 2,093 yards and will eclipse the 5,000 career passing yard mark early this season. He threw 21 touchdown passes, but did throw 10 picks. That’s the one area he can improve heading into senior year. He isn’t a big threat to run, but has gotten better over his career. Howe was a WVC Division 1 Honorable Mention quarterback in 2024.

Jaden Shedlock, Sr. – Crestwood

After running for over 1,100 yards his freshman season and leading the Comets to a district title, Shedlock has had trouble staying healthy as he only played two games his junior season. There is little doubt that he is one of the best athletes in WVC and one of the fastest players in the area. He won a district title in 100 meter dash earlier in his scholastic career. Shedlock will challenge defenses with his running ability because if you give him a seam, he will run past everyone. His passing ability is still questionable because of the lack of development over the past couple seasons because of the injuries. He makes enough throws to keep opposing defenses honest.

Brett Yanoski, Sr. – Mid Valley
Height: 5-10 Weight 160

Yanoski was under the radar last season because the Spartans were so good at running the football. However, when you dig into the numbers, they were very good. He completed 59% of his passes for 1,328 yards and 11 touchdowns while only throwing four interceptions. His football IQ gives Mid Valley another coach on the field with smart decision making and the ability to intrepret what the defense is doing. Although the Spartans will have an above average offensive line, they still did lost some key members that gave him plenty of time in the pocket last season. He will have to show more mobility in 2025. Yanoski was named an LFC Division II Honorable Mention quarterback last season.

Freddy Corrado, Jr. – Hazleton
Height: 6-2 Weight 155

Corrado has already gotten his feet wet his first two seasons playing the position due to injuries, but in 2025 he will be the fulltime quarterback. A new coaching staff will take over and it should be looking to fit what Corrado’s strengths are. He is pocket passer who will have some weapons returning that should help him this season. The Cougars will have to make sure they are better up front to give him time to go through his progressions and have a successful passing game. Corrado has the tools and now he needs to show he can use them to make Hazleton’s offense efficient.
