Gabe Franek scored the game’s first two touchdowns for a 14-0 lead after one quarter. He scored two more touchdowns in succession as part of a 26-point third quarter that put the game into the Mercy Rule before Susquehanna attempted a fourth-quarter comeback.

Sean Owens helped keep the game scoreless for three quarters Friday night, then produced the only touchdown early in the fourth quarter to allow second-seeded Western Wayne to escape an upset bid by seventh-seeded Berwick with a 7-0, home-field victory in a District 2 Class 3A quarterfinal.

Mid-Valley defeated Lake-Lehman in the Class 3A quarterfinals by the score of 35-18 behind four touchdowns from stalwart tailback, Jakob Lesher.

Valley View scored two second half touchdowns and held on to defeat Crestwood 21-14. The Cougars will host Dallas next Friday night in the District Class 4A title game in a rematch of last year’s championship game.

Brady Zapoticky threw for three touchdowns and ran for two Friday night to lead Dallas to a 48-14 romp over visiting Honesdale in a District 2 Class 4A semifinal.

RIVERSIDE 36, LAKELAND 7
Riverside rebounded from their only loss of the season and advanced to the Class 2A final by defeating Lakeland 36-7. The Vikings, now 10-1, will face the winner of the other semifinal contest between Susquehanna and Dunmore.

Tthe Wolfpack advanced to the District 2-4 Class 6A subregional final next weekend with a 35-7 victory over Scranton High School. Wilkes-Barre will play host to Williamsport in a matchup between two teams that played in Week 10.

Delaware Valley advanced to the final of the District 2 Class 5A bracket by dispatching Pittston Area 38-15. The Warriors will face a rematch with top-seed Abington Heights next weekend.

Scranton Prep scored on all five of their drives in the first half in dominating Tunkhannock 42-0 in the quarterfinal round of the Class 3A tournament. Prep will face off with Mid-Valley in a rematch of their Week 7 contest which Prep won 28-7.
