2024 PREVIEW
The Cavaliers won another district title and will be a favorite to win one in 2024. They also will be competing for the league title that eluded them last season. Prep has upgraded their non-league schedule which will present some new challenges as they will play a team from Buffalo and Maryland. They have a good core back and if they can fill the holes they do have quickly, they will be a dominant team again.
Everything starts with returning quarterback Louis Paris. He was the division Offense Player of the Year and could be even better in 2024. He will have a new tailback behind him as Will McPartland takes over. Reese Tanner is back at fullback and will be backed up by Caleb Rutkoski. Treyvon Dickey will be a valuable weapon at wide receiver, but also running the football. James Pappas will be the other wide receiver. Brady Holmes will also see time at receiver. The new tight end will be either Sean McCormick or Jaxsen Silfee.
The offensive line returns three starters including left tackle Ambrose Rossi, left guard Travis Sharples, and right guard Byron Axtell. Anthony De Los Santos will be the new right tackle and R.J. Nowakowski, Owen Dadurka, Peter Durkin, and Jordan Talerico will be in the mix for center.
On defense, Rossi is back at defensive end and will be joined by De Los Santos, Axtell or Dadurka. Sharples returns at defensive tackle with Talerico, Axtell or De Los Santos all possibilities inside. Jack Doughton, Mackey Lynett, Gregg Shur, and Caleb Rutoski will all be in contention for one of the linebacker spots with Tanner back at the other spot. Kaleb Pagnotti and Andrew Dempsey will provide depth. Dickey, Holmes, Pappas and Jack Mendola will compete for the cornerback spots while McPartland returns at safety.
Jack Hartshorn is back as the placekicker and punter.

We return a solid nucleus on both sides of the football, but must replace a few positions along the offensive line. The junior and sophomore classes have great potential, and it should be exciting to see them develop. We hope to be very competitive.
