Every week, we will highlight some of the best linemen from the WVC and LFC presented by Honesdale National Bank. Here is Week 9:
DYLAN LYNCH, Delaware Valley
The Delaware Valley defensive front is both strong and massive. Lynch is one of those players who does the dirty work taking up double teams and letting his teammates clean up. Last week in the win over North Pocono, he had six tackles and helped hold the Trojans to under 100 rushing yards for the game.
PAUL PANEK, Wyoming Area
Panek is another piece on the offensive line for Wyoming Area that makes the offense go. Last Friday against Nanticoke, he had three pancakes blocks and helped the Warriors produce 325 yards of offense in the win. He also did not allow a sack.
GAVIN RICHARDS, Mid Valley
The Spartans have been able to overpower teams this season, but that wasn’t expected Friday night. Richards helped lead the way as Mid Valley won the battle in trenches and upset Western Wayne. He was a major reason they rushed 168 yards against one of the best defenses in the LFC.
WYATT RUTHERFORD, Honesdale
One of the veterans of an explosive Hornets offense, Rutherford has been key in helping them average almost 49 points per game during their current three-game winning streak. He is a powerful run blocker, but also has good technique in pass protection which is important because Honesdale is very balanced overall on offense.
ZACH WILLIAMS, Dallas
Williams was a defensive standout last season, but was asked to also add the offensive line to his resume. Dallas’ offense continues to roll as the highest scoring team in WVC Division 1. The Mounts are efficient running and throwing the ball and he has been a leader on a unit that had to replace all five starters. Williams has remained a force on defense as well with five tackles and three tackles-for-loss in the win over Hazleton.
