2023 PREVIEW
It was a rough season for the Black Knights which is a constant contender most years. There were some young players that performed last season and now they will have bigger roles in 2023. Lehman is hoping to be in contention for the division once again.
The coaching staff is confident Hayden Evans can be a difference make at quarterback. Jim Mitkowski, Sam Plummer, and Chris Yetter will be in contention for the running back position. Gavin Shoemaker and Bayne Raspen are the fullbacks. Chris Sholtis is a returning starter at wide receiver and will be joined by either Jake Evans, Nick Joseph, Chris Yetter, or Hunter Lee. Ben Dowling is the new tight end with Shoemaker also playing at the position.
Jacob McHenry is the only returning starter on the offensive line. Brayden Savage, Bob Gregor, Trent Gaus and Vladimer Lee are expected to fill the other positions up front. Travis Pisano will provide depth.
Dowling and McHenry are expected to be the defensive ends with Cole Daniels and Savage providing depth. Gregor, Gaus, and Lee will play inside on the line and Tristian Nat will provide depth. Sholtis, Mitkowski, Raspen and Shoemaker are in the mix for the linebacker spots. Jake Evans, Yetter, and Lee will be in competition for the cornerback positions. Joseph, Hayden Evans, and Plummer will play the safety spots.
Sholtis will be the punter and Gregor will be the long snapper.
