Here are the 2023 NPF LFC Division I All-Stars. The list is compiled by feedback from the division coaches and NPF Staff. We have added a division MVP which exemplifies a player who makes the biggest contribitions on both sides of the ball.

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER
Ryder Machado, Sr. – Delaware Valley
Coming into the season, Machado was one of the best returning defensive backs in the LFC. And as the backup running back in 2022, he showed some potential to be an offensive playmaker.  Turns out he ended up being the best overall player on both sides of the ball. Machado rushed for 1,610 yards and 28 touchdowns to help the Warriors win a division and district title. He added 206 receiving yards to his senior resume.  His defense got even better as proved to be a ball hawk. Machado had 92 tackles, 8 interceptions, a forced a fumble and 15 pass defenses.

OFFENSE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Louis Paris, Jr. – Scranton Prep
Paris improved from his sophomore year in throwing the football. He already was a powerful runner who looked more like a fullback than a quarterback when running the football. Paris ended up throwing 1,263 yards and 18 touchdowns and that’s with being pulled out of most games early with Scranton Prep firmly in control of games by halftime. He added 528 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns. Even though he had a lot of talent around, he seemed to rise to the occasion in big games and helped Prep win another district title.

DEFENSE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Justin Kalitsnik, Sr. – Delaware Valley
When you watched the Delaware Valley defense on the field, No. 44 always seemed to be near the ball. Kalitsnik finished 2023 with 153 tackles, average almost 11 per game. He also had five sacks and two interceptions. He recorded 100+ tackles each of the last three seasons and was the team leader of a defense that pushed the Warriors to another division and district title. He also was a powerful blocker on offense as the fullback and ran for 739 yards this past season.

LINEMAN OF THE YEAR
Jacob Albaugh, Sr. – Delaware Valley

Delaware Valley dominated their District 2 opponents all season long up front and Albaugh was the best of a very good group of linemen that made the Warriors explosive on offense and stingy on defense. The senior was a powerful run blocker that helped DV run for 3,500 yards and his technique was excellent in pass protection with the Warriors throwing for over 1,500 yards. Albaugh was tough to move as a defensive tackle in Delaware Valley’s 3-4 defense and ended up with 22 tackles and 5.5 sacks.

COACH OF THE YEAR
Keith Olsommer – Delaware Valley
Olsommer has built one of the best programs in the District 2. After losing the first three games of the 2023 season to state ranked teams, the Warriors ran through their league and district playoff schedule with nine straight wins which included their 8th straight district title. Olsommer’s strategy to leave the area to play better competition might have resulted in early losses, but paid off as that experience allowed them to dominate the rest of their opponents. Delaware Valley also won a state playoff game and advanced to the state quarterfinals in Class 5A.
