2022 PREVIEW
The Black Knights experienced their first losing season since 2016, but with a group of experienced players returning, they hope to start a new streak of winning seasons in 2022. The offensive line will be a strength and the Lake-Lehman feels they have enough playmakers to make the offense very efficient.
Landon Schuckers returns at quarterback with Gavin Wallace, who got playing time last season, also seeing time at the position. The Knights were able to run the ball last year and they are hoping that will repeat with Javon Borger now the full time running back. When Schuckers is not at quarterback, you might see him jump in at fullback along with Josh Ryan. Brandon Ritinski returns at wide receiver with Wallace also lining up there if he isn’t at quarterback. Gavin Paraschak is a returning starter at tight end.
Lehman lost their best lineman to graduation but the other four are back: left guard Aiden Gaus, center Damian Napierkowski, right guard Mason Lee and right tackle Chad Honeywell.
On defense, Lee and Honeywell are back at defensive end and tackle respectively. Gaus will play the the other end with Valdimer Lee and Napierkowski seeing time at the other defensive tackle spot. Borger and Paraschak are returning starters at outside linebacker. New personnel will be at inside backer with Gavin Shoemaker, Schuckers, and Ryan all in the mix for playing time.Ritinski and Wallace have experience at cornerback with Jake Gizinski also expected to play there. The new safety will be either Ben Dowling or Chris Sholtis.
Lee returns as the punter. The Black Knights will find a kicker and long snapper in training camp.
