BIG SCHOOL

  1. Valley View Cougars (6-0), defeated Crestwood 38-7 (Last week: 1)
    The Cougars were shocked 2 plays into the game trailing 7-0. But then ran off 38 straight points to remain unbeaten. Valley View smallest margin of victory this season has been 20 points.
    Next up: vat Wallenpaupack (2-4) (Listen on NPF)
  2. North Pocono Trojans (5-1), defeated Abington Heights 28-0 (Last week: 2)
    The defense put up its second shutout of the season and has only allowed 61 points this season. The offense is still developing but QB William Soma has become a big-time playmaker.
    Next up: vs. West Scranton (0-6)
  3. Delaware Valley Warriors (3-3), defeated Hazleton Area  14-9 (Last week: 5)
    It was a huge road win for the Warriors who have now run their winning-streak to 3. The defense has been lights out the last three weeks and RB Joey Sciascia keeps putting up big numbers.
    Next up: vs. Williamsport (3-3) (Listen on WYNY)
  4. Hazleton Area Cougars (3-3), lost to Delaware Valley 14-9 (Last week: 3)
    Tough loss at home but the Cougars showed they can hang with defending district champions and favorite for this season. The defense has played some good football in recent weeks.
    Next up: at Scranton (3-3)
  5. Dallas Mountaineers (3-2), defeated Williamsport 27-20 (Last week: 4)
    Dallas definitely likes to play close games. They held on this past Friday and continue to score points with QB Jackson Wydra leading the way.
    Next up: at Pittston Area (2-4)
  6. Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack (3-3), defeated Valley West 27-25 (Last week: NR)
    The Wolfpack replace the Spartans on the rankings after a dramatic win. This rivalry has become intense after only three meetings, all Wilkes-Barre wins.
    Next up: vs. Tunkhannock (2-4)







SMALL SCHOOL

  1. Scranton Prep Cavaliers (5-0), defeated West Scranton 55-7 (Last week: 1)
    48 points in the first quarter says it all. Prep continues to roll on offense and play stout defense.
    Next up: vs. Honesdale (2-4)
  2. Wyoming Area Warriors (5-1), defeated Lakeland 19-14 (Last week: 2)
    Another classic for Wyoming Area and this time they come out on right end. Kudos to Leo Haros who stepped in to play QB when Blaise Sokach-Minnick went down.
    Next up: vs Lake-Lehman (3-2) (Listen on WAFA)
  3. Old Forge Blue Devils (5-0), defeated Hanover Area 55-0 (Last week: 3)
    No rust for the Blue Devils as they scored early and often. They needed that game just to get on field and get ready for the their rivalry game this Friday.

  4. Lakeland Chiefs (5-1), Lost to Wyoming Area 19-14 (Last week: 4)
    The winning streak is over for Lakeland but they showed they are definitely still in the mix to defend their Class 3A title. That playoff bracket will be fun to watch. Another 3A challenge this week.

  5. Lackawanna Trail Lions (4-1), Idle (Last week: 5)
    COVID puts the Lions on the sidelines for Week 6. They are hoping to be back on the field Saturday.

  6. Mid Valley Spartans (5-1), defeated Riverside 24-21 (Last week: 6)
    It was a little closer than we thought but RB Devin Ayala carried the Spartans to their fifth win. They have to get better at PATs though. It could cost them in a close game.
