2021 PREVIEW
The Spartans struggled early in 2020 against a tought sschedule but by the end of the season, they were able to get in the win column and were much improved since the beginning of the season. They are hoping that carries over to 2021.
Mid Valley has some very good starters returning and size on the offensive line. Quarterback Cam Riccardo is back for his second year as a starter and Devin Ayala is back at running back. Darnell Calloway is the new fullback. Zack Popko and Jayden Winters will be the backups. Kyle Marcinkevich returns at one wide receiver spot while Jayson Lowe and Jaden Carroll will get playing time there as well. Andrew Topa will be the new tight end.
All-division right guard Josh Angelo return as well as right tackle Luke Ferguson and left guard Gavin Shaffer. David Calafut will be the new left tackle. Josh Hedglin is penciled in as center and backed up by Dean Walsh.
Ferguson and Shaffer return as the starting defensive ends and Angelo is back at defensive tackle. Walsh will occupy the other tackle spot. Winters and Calloway are returning starters at outside linebacker. Winters returns at inside linebacker and will be joined by Calloway. Marcinkevich at cornerback is the only returning member of the secondary. Lowe will play at the other corner while Popko and Chmielewski are being considered at safety.
Charlie Davey will do the kicking while Marcinkevich returns as the punter.
