2021 PREVIEW
The Bucks won another district title in 2020, but ending up with a losing record didn’t sit well with some of the faithful. Dunmore is hoping to bounce back with a new nucleus of players to continue a strong tradition of Bucks football.
When you play a freshman quarterback, there will be growing pains, but there was also be rewards when he comes back as a sophomore year. That’s the case for Thomas Bowen who will be able to make more plays for an offense that needs playmakers. Cal Talutto is expected to take over at tailback while Patrick Pucilowski takes over at full back. The depth will consist of Liam Crolley at quarterback, Josh Malone and Kam Reyes at running back and Nick Donvito and Jake Hickey at fullback. Dan Pigga and Keiran Reyes are slotted in as the new starting wide receivers with Vinny Bonavoglia, Lorenzo Mitchell, and Dom DeSando also being considered. Blake Schultz is the new tight end with Brayden Reuther and Andrew Fazio backing him up.
The Bucks do have some experienced linemen back including left tackle Austin Brislin, left guard Joe Marzzacco, center Danny Schmidt and right tackle Jacob Cicerini. Luciano Calderone or Evan Makowski are expected to fill the right guard position. Nathan Reuther will provide overall depth.
Brislin is an all-league player returning on the defensive line while Makowski and NathanReuther will play with him at defensive tackle. Cicerini, Marzzacco, Schultz, Brayden Reuther, and Fazio will be looked at to play defensive end. Malone and Pucilowski will take over at linebacker with Donvito and Zaaki Rosario providing depth. Keiran Reyes and Bonavoglia are penciled in at the cornerback positon with help from Mitchell. The safeties are expected to be Talutto and Crolley with Kam Reys next on the depth chart.
There will be competition at both kicking positions. Placekickers are Max Hunt and Eric Reesey while Nick Pierro, Rogan Dougherty, and Sean Gallagher will vie for the punting job.
QUOTE FROM COACH MCHALE: We need to replace a great group of seniors who graduated. Our upcoming seniors displayed great leadership in the offseason. We are excited to see our kids compete in 2021.
