Here are the 2021 WVC 6A/5A All-Stars presented by Motorworld. The list is compiled by feedback from the division coaches and NPF Staff.

OFFENSE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Tyler Wolfe, Jr. – Hazleton Area
Wolfe stepped into a situation where he had a great group of skill players and he made the most if it. He threw for 2,188 yards and 23 touchdown passes (Both second in District 2). He also rushed for 225 yards and two touchdowns while leading the Cougars to the WVC 6A/5A title and a trip to the District 2 Class 6A title game.

DEFENSE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Ryan Matyas, Jr. – Hazleton Area
Matyas was an impact player on the best defense in the division and a unit that entered the season unheralded. The Cougars got better on that side of the ball with him being a playmaker and leader which helped them win the division. Matyas ended up with 79 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, 2 sacks and 2 interceptions.

LINEMAN OF THE YEAR
Charles Crews III, Sr. – Williamsport

It’s no surprise that Crews was given this accolade considering he was in the running last season as well. He has been one of the best two-way lineman in the WVC and was an impact player on both sides of the ball. When Williamsport was healthy, they were able to run and pass with efficiency. Crews paved the way and was excellent in pass protection.  On defense, Crews had 53 tackles, 7 tackles for loss and 3 sacks for the Millionaires.

COACH OF THE YEAR
Dennis Buchman – Hazleton Area
Buchman has won this award twice now in his first two seasons. There was little doubt the skill players were a group that already had a pedigree but the Cougars had questions up front and on defense. Hazleton managed to win the division and a district playoff game because they improved in those areas as the season went on. Besides going unbeaten in the division, the Cougars had two other quality wins over Class 4A playoff teams Dallas and Berwick.
