Every week, we will highlight some of the best linemen from the WVC and LFC presented by Brucelli Advertising. Here is Week 5:

Mid Valley had a great first half of the season and Angelo has been the leader up front. He had 8 tackles on Saturday and added a sack and 3 tackles for loss. On offense, he led the way for the running game which piled up 358 yards.

No matter how good the running back is, the offensive line still needs to do their job. This week, Kohut was the leader up front as the Cavaliers won their first division game of 2021 scoring 41 points and rushed for over 400 yards. He also contributed on the defensive side of the ball.

JOE MARRANCA, Wyoming Area
At defensive end, Marranca was a key member of a defense that pitched a shut out on the road at Crestwood. He led the team in tackles with 8 (4 solo, 4 assists). It was the first shutout of the season for the Warriors.

It was a dominating performance by Martinez who helped the Knights earn a road win at Honesdale. On offense, he helped the team rush for 336 yards. But where he really made his mark was on defense with 3 sacks including 1 for a safety, 7 tackles, forced fumble and a QB hurry.

R.J SCHIRG, Lackawanna Trail
Schirg has been one of the dominating lineman over the past two seasons and he has helped the Lions to a 4-1 start. At offensive tackle, he helped Trail run for 418 yards this past Friday and defensively he had a sack, tackle for loss, forced fumbke and 2 QB hurries.
