Every week, we will highlight some of the best linemen from the WVC and LFC presented by Brucelli Advertising. Here is Week 1:

MIKE FITZGERALD, Wallenpaupack
The junior guard was instrumental in helping the Buckhorns rush for 241 yards in a 41-6 over rival Honesdale. Mike Fitzgerald had five pancake blocks and was perfect in pass protection.

RYAN GILPIN, Wyoming Area
The 6-1, 275 pound senior was a key member of the Wyoming Area offensive line as Ryan Gilpin recorded 5 pancake blocks and helped the Warriors rush for 283 yards and five touchdowns. The offensive line didn’t give up a sack.

JOHN JACE, Wilkes-Barre
The Wolfpack defense gave up 13 points in the first quarter, but it was defensive end Jace John who spearheaded the effort to shut out Scranton the next three quarters. John was constantly in running lanes as he had two tackles for loss and also put pressure on Knights versatile quarterback Arvel Chandler.

The Crusaders ran for 356 yards against Holy Redeemer to break a 13-game losing streak and the offensive line was big reason why. Although it was a team effort, right tackle Chris Petrucci stood out with a dominating performance. Holy Cross only threw one pass the whole game, running the ball 43 times.

Valley View produced two 100+ yard rushers against a ranked opponent in Dallas and ran for a total of 335 yards. In the middle of the offensive line that helped achieve those numbers was center Danny Vislosky. The Cougars push up front was led by Vislosky who also a good night snapping the football in the wet weather.
