Here are the rankings afte Week 8 presented by Golden Dome Abstract:

BIG SCHOOL

  1. Delaware Valley Warriors (4-1), defeated Hazleton Area 55-30 (Last week: 1)
The Warriors offense flexed it’s muscles and came away with an impressive win over Hazleton and their fifth straight district title. With plenty of Class 6A powerhouses sitting out this season, it’s a great opportunity for DV to make a state run.
Next up: vs. Altoona (4-2) (Listen on NPF)
  2. Williamsport Millionaires (6-2), Lost to Altoona 29-14 (Last week: 2)
Turnovers doomed the Millionaires offense and they still had a chance late to put things out. Nonetheless, it was a great season for Chuck Crews squad and a division title was one of their rewards.
    Next up: Season Complete
  3. Crestwood Comets (7-0), defeated Lake-Lehman 20-17 OT (Last week: 3)
Amazing comeback to remain unbeaten and win the WVC Division 2 title. The Comets defense should get credit as they held an offense who was averaging over 40 points per game to 14 in regulation.
Next up: vs. Dallas (4-3) (Listen on NPF)
  4. Valley View Cougars (3-2), defeated Scranton Prep 34-21 (Last week: 5)
Valley View might be the best team in Class 4A, but we will never know. They manhandled an unbeaten and state-ranked team and made it look easy.
Next up: vs Malvern Prep (3-0) (Watch on NPF)
  5. Hazleton Area Cougars (4-3), lost to Delaware Valley 55-30 (Last week: 4)
No shame in losing to the No. 1 team. The Cougars finished an successfuly season and have plenty of young offensive weapons to that give the a bright future.
    Next up: Season Complete
  6. Dallas Mountaineers (4-3), defeated Berwick 14-7 (Last week: 6)
It wasn’t pretty, but the Mountaineers will get a chance to defend their district title. Dallas will have to find more offense if they are going to win on Friday.
Next up: at Crestwood (7-0) (Listen on NPF)

SMALL SCHOOL

  1. Lakeland Chiefs (4-0), Idle (Last week: 3)
Lakeland gets a division title and host the district title game. It should be a great matchup and expect weather to be a factor because it always is on Chapman Lake.
Next up: vs, Lake-Lehman (7-1) (Watch on NPF)
  2. Lake-Lehman Black Knights (7-0), defeated Tunkhannock 42-13 (Last week: 2)
A disappointing end to a great regular season. The Black Knights can still win a district title in what should be a great matchup in the most competitive classification in District 2
Next up: at Lakeland (4-0) (Watch on NPF)
  3. Scranton Prep Cavaliers (4-1), lost to Valley View (Last week: 1)
Many were surprised by the way Prep lost on Saturday, but people might have underestimated how good Valley View is. The Cavaliers might be the best team in Class 3A, but again we will never know.
    Next up: Season Complete
  4. Old Forge Blue Devils (4-0), defeated Lackawanna Trail 34-19 (Last week: 4)
The Blue Devils finally shaked off their nemisis from the last two years and have a clear path to Hershey. They have the best shot of winning a state title from District 2.
Next up: vs. Bristol (2-1) (Listen on NPF)
  5. Western Wayne (4-1),  defeated North Pocono 27-3 (Last week: 6)
Western Wayne earned a share of the LFC Division II championship and really was impressive this season after losing over 20 seniors. Zane Janiszewski might be the most complete player in the district.
    Next up: vs. Wallenpaupack (2-3)
  6. Wyoming Area Warriors (4-3), Idle (Last week: 5)
Warriors were able to get their rivalry game back for Saturday. Anything can happen in this game.
