2019 Super Six – Week 12

Here are the rankings after Week 12:

BIG SCHOOL

  1. Dallas Mountaineers (12-0), defeated Crestwood 37-16 (Last Week: 1)
The Mounts had a slow start but continue as the only unbeaten in District 2. Now, it’s a rematch of the district title game last year with Dallas the favorite this season.
Next up: vs Valley View (11-1)
  2. Delaware Valley Warriors (11-1) defeated Wilkes-Barre 32-21  (Last Week: 2)
It wasn’t easy as the Warriors were given everything they could handle against Wilkes-Barre, but it’s another district title for DV and now they need to try to get over the State College hurdle again.
Next up:  vs State College (10-1)
  3. Valley View Cougars (11-1), defeated Berwick 14-13 (Last Week: 3)
The Cougars made it two epic comebacks against Berwick, but will have to play much better the second time around against Dallas if they want to a threepeat.
    Next up: at Dallas (12-0)
  4. Berwick Bulldogs (9-3) lost to Valley View 14-13 (Last Week: 4)
For the second straight season, the Bulldogs only lost to two teams – Dallas and Valley View. The team was successful but didn’t get to where they wanted.
  5. Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack (7-5) lost to Delaware Valley 32-21 (Last Week: 6)
The Wolfpack gave the Warriors their toughest game of the season and ended up with a successful program debut. It will be fun to see where the program goes from here.

  6. Crestwood Comets (7-5) lost to Dallas 37-16 (Last Week: 5)
Comets held their own for a little bit against Dallas, but didn’t have enough to push them over the top in 2019.

SMALL SCHOOL

  1. Wyoming Area Warriors (10-1), defeated Lake-Lehman 48-12 (Last Week: 1)
The Warriors lost last year in the semifinals but made sure that didn’t happen in 2019. They will now try to knock off the best 3A team over the past three years.
Next up: vs Scranton Prep (9-2)
  2. Scranton Prep Cavaliers (9-2), defeated Western Wayne 30-14 (Last Week: 2)
They are back. Some said it was a down year, but they only lost to two very good teams. Now, they will try to avenge one of those losses and win another title.
Next up: at Wyoming Area (10-1)
  3. Western Wayne Wildcats (9-3), defeated Hanover Area 35-0 (Last Week: 3)
Western Wayne was so close, but turnovers and some mistakes in the passing game really hurt. Still, the program continues to grow and made an impact on the LFC.
    Next up: Season Complete
  4. Dunmore Bucks (8-4), defeated Mid Valley 42-7 (Last Week: 5)
0-2 start looks a long time ago. The Bucks avenged one of those losses and won anothe district title in Dunmore.
Next up: vs Mid Valley (4-6)
  5. Lackawanna Trail Lions (8-3), defeated Morrisville 54-20 (Last Week: 6)
It’s like deja vu as the Lions are on the same path as 2019. Of course, they ended up in Hershey and that could happen again.
Next up: vs Williams Valley (10-2)
  6. Lake-Lehman Black Knights (8-4), lost to Wyoming Area 48-12 (Last Week: 4)
After playing toe-to-toe with Wyoming Area in the first meeting, it was a no contest in the semifinals. Still a pretty successful season for the Knights.
